It seems that with recently video games and music have become intertwined combining the use of interactive controllers like dance pads and electronic guitars to make game play even more realistic.

Guitar Hero 3

If you haven’t heard of the Guitar Hero series, you don’t know what you are missing out on. One of the best features of Guitar Hero 3 is that it includes a Les Paul wireless controller. Though this guitar doesn’t have strings, it’s buttons allow for you to jam easily on Guitar Hero 3.

With the Les Paul Guitar you push the buttons as indicated on the game. It will help let you play songs from Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Slayer, Iron Maiden, and even Aerosmith. Everyone can feel like a hero with Guitar Hero 3. Many are maintaining that this might be one of the best games of the entire series. For the first time, the franchise goes online with co-op, face-off, pro face-off and battle mode up for play with a friend or stranger around the world.

Rock Band

If you don’t want to settle for just playing the guitar, why not have the entire band simulated. Rock Band breaks out from the Guitar Hero series by adding other instruments to game play. It uses the four key instruments one needs to make a band a rock band the guitar, bass, drums, and vocals.

The guitar included with Rock Band is also much different than that which is included with Guitar Hero. Its got a much longer neck and it feels a lot more realistic than that of the guitar hero series. You get narrow fret buttons that even work well for performing solos. It even comes with the ability to play effects like echo, flange, and wah-wah sounds which you can play to your choice with the in game sound track.
